At least we didn't have to deal with this:
(I can’t explain how intimidating a 40 page research paper sounded to me at that age. The other seminar at my TASP assigned an even more ungodly amount of work.)This post reminds me so much of our stay at the house.

Really glad we didn't have to write forty pages...
As much as we procrastinated, can you imagine all of us cramming forty pages in one night?
I can.
A forty-page research paper does sound like the scariest thing in the world.
When he says that "I often think I’ve spent the rest of my life trying to recapture the 'magic' of that summer," it seems to me like a really chilling thing.
